Where do I begin? Tennessee just won the SEC Tournament Championship for the first time since 1979. I wasn’t even a thought at that time in history. In fact, most of us Vol fans probably weren’t even old enough to remember. Throughout my lifetime, I’ve seen my fair share, actually more than my fair share, of lows when it comes to Tennessee athletics. I’ve been on the heartbreaking end of the stick more times than I can count. I’ve seen shots at the buzzer drop on my Volunteers to shatter their hearts and send them home in the NCAA Tournament and I’ve watched our shots rim out.

I hope this is just the beginning of what is to be a bright future for Tennessee athletics. The feeling right now is euphoric. I feel like I’m on top of the world. When this program is winning championships, all is right in the universe. I hope that the Vols can make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, and I truly believe that they are deserving of a number one seed. When you look at their résumé, it beats out Baylor who they have on the one line right now. It beats out Auburn. I think the committee will mess this up and give Tennessee a two seed, which I will be okay with. I won’t lose sleep over it. This is my first championship with the University of Tennessee, and I want more. They want more. Everyone that bleeds orange wants more. We have to keep going.

Call this an overreaction, call this celebration absurd, say that this was just fate and stars aligning for Tennessee to play a team that had to play four games in four days. You can call it whatever you like. But there’s one thing you must call us now:

SEC CHAMPIONS!
