As the highly anticipated 2023 Ryder Cup approaches, the golf world is abuzz with speculations and predictions about who will make the team for the United States after the first six selections were confirmed this week.
Not to be left out, golfing bombshell Paige Spiranac, shared who she thinks will complete the nation’s team during the latest episode of her podcast ‘Playing a Round with Paige.’
Spiranac’s Ryder Cup Selections
The first six spots of the team were confirmed after the 2023 BMW Championship which was the end of the qualifying period.
Zach Johnson, as captain of the United States team will be responsible to fill out the remaining six spots in the 12-man team.
Talking about her predictions, Spiranac stated in the podcast, “If he [captain Zach Johnson] doesn’t pick Brooks Koepka, he’s an idiot because he has experience and he plays really well under tense circumstances … Spieth has experience, gels really well with the team …”
The influencer’s selections for the American team include Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley, and Dustin Johnson. Notably, two players from the LIV Golf circuit made her list, adding an intriguing twist to the potential lineup.
However, Spiranac didn’t mince words when it came to Colin Morikawa. She explained her decision not to include him, saying, “I would not pick him because his putting has not been at its best, and his game does not give me confidence under pressure.”
The Ryder Cup will be played from September 25 through October 1.
