Just an hour after news broke that the NBA season had been cancelled after the positive diagnosis of Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert, NCAA President Mark Emmert is expected to announce as early as Thursday afternoon that the NCAA Tournament has been cancelled at all levels of play due to the massive outbreak of COVID-19.

The Southeastern Conference just announced the cancellation of the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tennessee.

It was released Wednesday evening that fans were not allowed to attend the NCAA Tournament to help decrease the spread of the virus.

“After careful consideration and consulting with medical professionals, it’s in the fans and the student athletes best interest to suspend tournament play. The health and safety of our student athletes and fans that support them are the number one priority here.”

Actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson also tested positive for Coronavirus in Australia on Wednesday.

We will have more information on this story as it develops.
